1) Remove reusable trims or bases carefully.
2) Fix uneven subfloor.
3) The subfloor should be free of protruding fasteners and debris.
4) Screw down loose or squeaky sections of subfloor and replace areas that are damaged.
5) Checking for other imperfections. The subfloor should be leveled, solid, dry and clean.
